July 2014 Birchbox

This week I received my Birchbox and I was beyond excited about it. Birchbox to me is like a monthly gift I receive in the mail and even though I'm 21 I still get giddy about presents and receiving packages in the mail. As much as I love Birchbox, I have been frustrated with their shipping. The past two boxes have each taken over two weeks to ship when before it would only take a week or so. It is very annoying having to wait two whole weeks for a package to be delivered, but enough with the negativity, on to the good stuff aka the contents of the box. This month I received five products and a free one year subscription to Women's Health Magazine.

The first product that I gravitated towards was a Cynthia Rowley lip stain in the color Sugar. This was probably my favorite from the entire box. Even though the size is super small it was still the most used product of the box. The color is like the same suggests it is a light pink shade. I will say that since it is a light shade it is not for every skin color. If you are too tan this may not be the shade for you because it will wash you out and make you look sick. Anyways, I loved this product but I do not think I will be purchasing the full-size because even though it was a tiny gloss, gloss is something that lasts forever.

The second product I received was a body lotion. This lotion is the perfect for travel or to take on the go to take in your purse. I have nothing negative to say about this product but with that being said there is nothing special about this lotion. It has a hefty price tag and honestly I feel like you could purchased a lotion twice the full-size of this lotion for half of the price at Target

The third product in the box was a dry shampoo. I am really excited to use this product! I have been using dry shampoo for nearly a year now and as gross as it sounds not washing my hair everyday and using dry shampoo on the days that I don't wash my hair has helped my tremendously! Up until about a month I had very long hair, used heat on it very often, and it was dyed blonde, damage at its best to say the least. I don't mean to go on about my hair so I'll just state my point: dry shampoo has helped my hair my hair get healthy and stay healthy. This dry shampoo has a slight scent but its a refreshing scent.

The fourth product in the box was a shower gel. This was an awful product! It was like using water instead of shower gel. The consistency of this product was so watery it dripped from my loofah and all it left behind was a light scent that was nice but a nice scent does not make up for the watery consistency. Since this product was useless I just used bar soap that shower instead. Absolute piss!

The last product in the box was a serum. It in an anti-aging serum so I didn't use this product, I feel like I wouldn't have the most accurate results for this product.

June 2014 Faves

The year is now officially half over! Summer is here! This is my favorite season of the year. There is so much to do in the summer, indoors and out. The weather has been a lot warmer than I'd like it to be which is saying a lot seeing how I'm always cold. It makes it difficult to outdoor activities because as soon as you step outside you start to sweat... its pretty gross. Other than that I had an excellent June. My favorite was the first week of June. I continued celebrating my 21st birthday which is always exciting since I was able to go out for a drink with friends which is much more fun than grabbing a cup of coffee. I also took a mini-vacation with my sister to the beautiful Lake Tahoe for about half a week. It was just what I needed! I didn't do the typical Lake Tahoe activities, I focused more on R&R. I went to the beach which was relaxing, not to mention I got a nice tan. I gambled some but lady luck was not on my side, but it was still fun regardless. I drank some but not too much because each drink was like eight dollars!! The hotel pool was heated so I swam a few laps. Overall, I has a great trip and I plan on making it at least an annual trip.

I had mentioned in an earlier post that I was going to list my top 25 played songs so without further ado here they are:

25. Never Too Late by Three Days Grace with 19 plays
24. Girl Next Door by Saving Jane with 19 plays
23. Like We Used To by A Rocket to the Moon with 19 plays
22. Want You Bad by The Offspring with 19 plays
21. Like A Virgin by Madonna with 19 plays
20. Pickup Truck by Kings of Leon with 19 plays
19. Love Life by He Is We with 19 plays
18. All Around Me by Flyleaf with 19 plays
17. Tell Me When To Go by E-40 with 19 plays
16. Look What You've Done by Drake with 19 plays
15. Play by David Banner with 19 plays
14. Love and Sex and Magic by Justin Timberlake Ft. Ciara with 19 plays
13. Damn Rough Night by Artist V Poet with 19 plays
12. TNT by AC/DC with 19 plays
11. Cherry Pie by Warrant with 20 plays
10. The (After) Life of The Party by Fall Out Boy with 20 plays
9. Baby Got Back by Sir-Mix-A-lot with 20 plays
8. Without Me by Eminem with 20 plays
7. (Drop Dead) Beautiful by Britney Spears with 20 plays
6. Inside Out by Britney Spears with 20 plays
5. This Is War by Thirty Seconds To Mars with 21 plays
4. Non-Toxic by Telekinisis with 21 plays
3. Amor Real by Sin Bandera with 21 plays
2. When Did Your Heart Go Missing by Rooney with 21 plays
1. Out Of My Head by Lupe Fiasco with 21 plays

As you could tell all of my songs are pretty close to one another so the order changes very often. I am not proud of this order but it is what it is.

TV show-wise this month I really have enjoyed One Tree Hill, True Blood, American Horror Story, The Tudors, and of coarse baseball. I haven't been watching too many shows because I've been so invested in True Blood. The past month I watched 4+ seasons of True Blood so that has taken up plenty of my tv watching time.

Food-wise in June I loved vanilla iced coffees from Starbucks. If you order an iced coffee and ask for vanilla syrup rather than classic syrup it will taste very similar to a vanilla macchiato just not as strong but after a few sips you get used to it. Other than that there was nothing in particular that caught my attention in the food department this month.

Make-up wise in June I wore pretty much the same look all month long. It was a busy month for me, I had a lot of outings and yet this was still my go-to look every time I went out. I pair gray eye shadow, bold mascara with a red lip. If it is a daytime outing I'll wear a red lip stain, maybe some gloss on top if its to much to tone it down. If I go out at night I'll switch the lip stain for a red lipstick that is bolder and add some eyeliner to the eye look. I know that summer means natural makeup, but I usually go natural for school so I go a bit further than usual this time of year.

June Birchbox

I have been subscribed to Birchbox for over a year and have been loving it! Birchbox is a  monthly subscription service in where you pay 10 dollars and you receive a box through the mail. Each box contains about five or six deluxe sized makeup related products. The products can range anywhere from make-up, hair care, skincare, or any lifestyle product. So far I have received a lot of hair products and make-up. I love the idea of Birchbox because you get to sample products without having to purchase the full-size product which can add up very quickly, especially when they high-end products. Also since they deluxe sized samples, they will last you enough for you to see if you like the product but also you can switch up often since they are small sized. I like to use a lot of the products like shampoo and lotion for when I travel that way if I spill it or leave it at the hotel its not a big deal, plus its easier to pack. Also a huge plus is that if you review the products you received in your monthly box you receive points which accumulate into money that you can spend.

This month's Birchbox was a good one! I received (insert number) products this month and I was excited about most of the products. I'll list below the products with a mini review of each.

1. The first product I tried was the LAQA & Co. Sheer Lip Lube Pencil in the color Bee's Knees. It is a coral nude color so it is not for everybody. For my skin and lip color this was a good shade because it was natural looking almost like my lip color but more nude so it is great for those days you wanna wear darker eye make-up. I plan on using this product a lot during the summer.

2. The second product I gravitated towards was the Cynthia Rowley eyeliner in the color black. This is going to become my everyday eyeliner this summer. It is creamy therefore easy to apply. The size I received was not full size yet it is going to last me a very long time. This came at a great time because I'm running out of my other pencil eyeliner is running out.

3. The third product I received was a Perlier body cream. This was a nice item to add to the box because you can always use more lotion especially if it is small enough to fit in your purse. It is very moisturizing and the smell is pleasant. It is thicker than regular body lotion but not as rich as hand cream.

4. The fourth product I received was my least favorite which is the SARAHPOTEMPA The Half Up. This is similar to Hot Bunz or anything you would use to make a sock bun/top knot. I am not a fan of huge buns I prefer loose messy buns. With that being said, I did not actually try this seeing how it is meant for the type of bun I'm not fond of.

5. The fifth product I received was an English Laundry Perfume. I enjoyed that this perfume sample unlike most has a spray nozzle which is super helpful. I am not a huge fan of the usual sample perfume container with the cap, it is difficult to actually apply.

I recommend this to anyone who likes to try out make-up without spending tons of money. If you would like to try Birchbox let me know and I will send you an invite. Also I left the lotion in my car which is why it is not in the picture.

April and May Favs

Okay so I am going to start of with a disclaimer: I had to combine my April and May favorites because Blogger would not save my post so I figured I would combing April and May and hope it uploads. Also someone requested that I post my top 25 songs on my April favorites but I decided that because of all the delays it would be better if I did it in my June favorites so I think that is what I'm going to end up doing. Well without any further ado my April and May favourites.

These past two months my music world has been bland. Between baseball coming back and school ending I haven't had much time to sit and listen to music, only whatever I listen to while I get ready. I haven't had a favorite song in a very long time but there are a few songs that I have been enjoying lately. Below I'll list some songs I've been liking lately:

Champagne Supernova by Oasis
Never Too Late by Three Days Grace
This Is For Keeps by The Spill Canvas
Sometime Around Midnight by The Airborne Toxic Event

Make-up wise these past two months I have tried out quite a few new products and loved two of them in particular. The first product is Smashbox's Full Exposure mascara. I have it in the shade black and I find it to be the perfect shade for an occasion. This mascara gives so much volume and length in a natural looking way. It reminds me of those natural looking false lashes, where you know they are fake lashes but they are not over the top. The second product I have been loving is The Balm's lip stain in the color Pie. It is a red colored stain but wearable for everyday. Since it is a lip stain it will stay on all day but it is sheer so it is not overwhelming. I would wear the mascara and the lip stain almost everyday to school and not feel like I am wearing too much make-up.

Foodwise this month I really enjoyed sandwiches. Some people may think that this is a bland meal but I really crave them. A really great sandwich can me so filling and so yummy. I would pair my sandwich with chips and an ice cold Pepsi and lunch is served. I go back and forth with sandwiches, there are times like now when I love them and have them all the time and because of that I go months where I don't crave them at all for a long period of time.

My Thursday

I am sitting here, in a chair, writing in agony. I am at a nearby coffee shop which will remain unnamed. I walk in and tables away from my desired seat in a pretty young thang sitting all by her lonesome. Her face looks familiar but I do not want to stare because it would be considered rude. Trying to be nonchalant I glance once more and it hits me, she is the object of Areli's affection. Areli was gonna join at the coffee shop which made it that much funnier, to me at least. I decided not to let Areli know that her love interest was here partly because I wanted to see her reaction and also because she was late. Areli walked in the coffee shop and did something that she never does, she noticed her surroundings. As soon as she was no longer blinded but the raging sun, she noticed the pretty girl sitting across the coffee shop and just like that her face turned even more red and a smile lit up her face. I could feel the one-sided sexual tension. I am sure I was not the only one who could.

Small talk was exchanged between both parties and Areli took her seat on the table next to the object of her affection. Areli was here to work but it could not happen, her burning loins would not let it. She tried the best she could to focus on her paper . After minutes of silence there was a thump which turned out to be Areli's backpack taking a two-foot fall which made everyone in the building look including the love interest. Naturally Areli was embarrassed as she should be. She picked up the backpack and went on attempting to work.

Moments passed once again and a blonde woman walked in the door and took a seat with the love interest's table. They seemed to know each other as they chatted away. The two girls spent some time working on homework. Not much more happened after that. We were at the coffee shop for about two hours and then left. Not much else happened after that. It might not have been

March Favs

Hello once again! Another month has gone by so here we are again. This marks the one quarter mark of 2014. Hard to believe that it is now spring and winter is long past us. I enjoy spring weather because you can get away with wearing pretty much anything, if you get chilly you could just throw on a cardigan. Spring brings a lot of good things with it, at least to me. Baseball starts up in April which I am super excited for! School was stressful during March but April should be a pretty calm.

This month the music department was not my friend this month. I listened to music this month but I haven't seen the results on my iTunes play count. I know it's not about the numbers but for me when it comes to my music's play counts numbers do matter. Anyways, this month the song that has the most plays up to this month is When Did Your Heart Go Missing by Rooney with 20 plays just like last month. For artists I have been enjoying this month: Sheryl Crow, Bon Jovi, Oasis, U2, and Grace Potter.

Television show wise this month is also disappointing seeing how I did not watch too many shows this month. I've been watching Dawson's Creek for the past several months and have been loving it until some point in season 5 when the main character Dawson pissed me off. I had to stop watching because I was too mad to watch. Other than that, just the usual shows: Grey's Anatomy, The OC, Chicago Fire, Chicago PD, and HIMYM. I would like to take some time to remember and honor How I Met Your Mother. This is a show that I watch week after week and I can honestly say that my Mondays will not be the same. I think I may be the only one on the planet who liked the ending. I was rooting for them the whole time!

For fashion and make-up this month I have been loving my Converse. I lost them for a few months and now that I found them I wear them almost everyday, trying to use them before it gets too hot for shoes. In the make-up department I have found myself not wearing too much makeup lately but for those days that I do wear make-up I'll put on my Falsies mascara and a coral lipgloss. I have gotten pretty tan for it being March and I have been accentuating that with a bit of bronzer and the coral lipgloss also helps. Other than that I have not been wearing much makeup this month.

Foodwise I am back on that tea grind! I have been drinking black or green tea almost on the daily! On occasion I will have myself a fruity tea but not often. I have also been craving Taco Bell a lot lately which is weird because I never go there.

Well folks those were my March favs sorry they are late but like I said it was a busy month.

Feb Faves

February is over which means it is now March! As much as I am looking forward to March, February was a good month. It was a month of settling back into routine and getting out of the holiday mode I was still in. It was also weird going five days a week since I was used to only going three days a week. Since it was the beginning of the semester, school was not too bad. My favorite part of the month was that I made tons of new friends and got closer with some old classmates. That made school more fun and also that I am taking all classes that relate to my major. Enough about school, let's move on to the fun stuff aka my monthly favourites!!

Starting off with music, as of this month my most played song was When Did Your Heart Go Missing by Rooney with 20 plays. Down below I'll list the songs that I enjoyed this month. I listened to some new artists that I had heard of before but I did not own any of their music so in a way it is new music to me. I did receive the music from my sissy so I do thank her. Without further ado, my favourite songs of the month.

Wrecking Ball by Miley Cyrus
If It Makes You Happy by Sheryl Crow
How by Maroon 5

This month beautywise, I have actually been wearing make-up and have explored some new products along the way. One of my favorites that I first tried this month and loved was a foundation, Rimmel London Stay Matte Foundation. At first I did not like it because it was heavy and looked cakey but then I realized that a little went a long way with this product. The next time I used the foundation I only used a pea-size amount for my whole face and i liked that so much better! This foundation does not need to be set with a powder but it does help it stay matte even longer and gives it more coverage. Another favourite make-up product of mine this month has been the nail polish Kiss Me On My Tulips by OPI. It is the perfect shade for spring and its does not chip very easily.

Food-wise this month I haven't been loving anything in particular.

During February I did not watch too tv but I did manage to squeeze in a few shows in. Some of my favourites this month were:

Dawson's Creek
Grey's Anatomy
Chicago Fire
Chicago PD
HIMYM

Sorry for the delay but like I said March is a very busy month for me.

January 2014 Favourites

Hello bloggers!
The month is now over which means it is time for another monthly favourites! I was on break for the majority of the month however the I did start school the last week of the month so as you could tell I haven't done much in January. School has not been too difficult since it was only the first week though I will say it will be a challenging semester. From there, not much has changed. Now on to the fun stuff which is what I've been loving this past month!

Let's start off with music! Down below I'll list the songs I've been loving this past month. As usual I feel the need to inform you guys of my most played song which this month it happened to be Pickup Truck by Kings of Leon with 19 plays. This month I listened to a some Holiday music but I won't go too much into that.

If I Can't by 50 Cent
Wonderwall by Oasis
Love They Say by Tegan and Sara
When Did Your Heart Go Mising by Rooney

As for shows this month I have not been watching too many lately in fact I've been taking a break from Netflix. With that being said, I have been watching Netflix just not tv shows, movies rather. The shows I've been watching and loving this month will be listed below. Lately, I have been more into my DVD stack which is something I used to all the time before having Netflix.

The OC
Grey's Anatomy
Chicago Fire
Chicago PD
How I Met Your Mother
Lost Girl
Girls

Food-wise I have not been loving anything in particular.

Hair-wise I have been loving my Chi 44 Iron Guard. It is a heat taming spray. I spray it right before I curl or straighten my hair. It smells really good and it helps protect my hair so what is not to love. I like how the nozzle sprays a lot of product at once because it helps to distribute the product all throughout my hair.

Pismo Beach Trip

On Tuesday I took a trip down to Pismo Beach for a quick getaway. It was a good idea when it was planned but not so much once we were on the road, literally. As a group we wanted to go so bad that we ignored all the signs telling us not to go. My father had warned us that the vehicle's tires were not reliable but we ignored it and left for the beach anyway. About an hour into our trip we had the misfortune of one of our tires popping which caused us to almost get into an accident but luckily everything went to our favor and no one was hurt; some sodas rolled around and our tire was completely destroyed.
As soon as we were out of danger I got on the phone with AAA and they said they said they would send someone to come change our tire. It too the guy over an hour to get to us. It was a very long and frustrating hour but finally he arrived and replaced our tire in a matter of minutes.
We were back on the road and continued driving until we reached our hotel. We checked in to our room and unpacked. We rested and freshened up before heading to dinner. As a group we decided to go to a place called The Cracked Crab , I ordered the seafood pasta which did not disappoint. After dinner we went back to the room and changed into our swimsuits for the hot tub. That was very relaxing. After about an hour we got back upstairs to our room. We got ready for bed and had a few drinks. We went to sleep pretty early seeing how we needed to check out the next morning. We woke up the next morning and the view was beatiful.
We all woke up around 9am the next morning. We had two hours before we had to check out of the room so quickly we got dressed and packed our belongings. I wanted to soak in the scenery for a few more minutes before we left the hotel so I went out to the patio and enjoyed a nice cup of coffee. By the time it was 11 we were already packed and ready to go. We were going to spend the rest of the day at the beach but we had one of our people get sick so we thought it would be best to just head home. The way home was peaceful and the weather was beautiful. We stopped to get lunch at In-N-Out and we got some Starbucks as well. I was pretty exhausted when I got home. Sometime during the summer I plan on making another trip down there.

Q&A With Nana 2014 Edition

1) Assuming you got sentenced to prison at some point in your life, what were the charges against you?
If I were to serve time behind bars I do think it would be due to my excessive lying. I would probably get my lies tangled up not to mention I would probably owe money to the wrong people and my lies would not get me out of that situation.

2) If you were to take Monica Lewinsky out for lunch, where would you take her?
I think Monica and I would have fun at a buffet. It seems as though we both have an appetite so I would hate to deprive either one of us from getting seconds or even thirds. I think both us could snack on a pile of crab legs while gossiping on what really happened between her and Hilary Clinton.

3) If you could have been born on a different time period, what period would you chose and why?
I would love to have been born during the early 1910s that way I could be a teenager during the roaring 20's and have witnessed WWII plus the outfits then were pretty amazeballs!

4) You were lucky enough to be reincarnated after your death. What would you come back as and why?
I don't believe in reincarnation.

5) It's a zombie apocalypse and your shelter can only hold four people. Out of the five participants in this questionnaire, who would you get rid of and how?
Araceli would go. I feel like she would be a distraction to the group. Plus, may I remind everyone that Araceli spilled TWO beers on New Year's Eve.

Now on to the questions Pifis asked me:

1. How would you feel if you ever had the opportunity to meet Angelina Jolie and she was less than impressed with you?
Angelia Jolie and I have met before and she is very much impressed with me and EVERYTHING that I bring to the table!

2. Do you think technology is ruining our social lives?
I can see why some people would think that, however I think that technology has enriched our social lives. Whenever I'm watching 90210 I want to go shopping at Beverly Hills, I'll go on Instagram and see a certain scenery on the popular page and I know if it is in the US i could just hop in my car program my GPS and drive away. I think technology helps us have a social life by inspiring us to explore what is unknown to us.

3. What song would you audition with? (The Voice, American Idol, X Factor...)
I feel like I would sound pretty good singing a variety of songs such as Sweet Child O' Mine, You Wanna Make A Memory, Break The Chain . I enjoy a challenging song every now and then. It would really depend on what is going on in my life at the time.

4. How do you think your life would have turned out if you had been born and raised in Mexico instead of in the United States?
I feel like had I been born in Mexico my life would be a lot healthier therefore I would have the energy to be productive enough to go milk them cows and stand in the tortilla line.

5. Do you believe in supernatural forces/energies out there? (ghosts, spirits, demons...) Why or why not?
I do believe in the supernatural because I have experienced it before.

Lastly, the questions I'm going to ask Araceli
1) What is your favorite activity to do with Rita?
2) If you could spend a whole week with Kenzi what would you two do?
3)What is a typical day between you Giada, and Jade?
4)If you were to spend the night in handcuffs would it be for a legal or sexual reason?
5)What has been your proudest dancing performance thus far?

Sorry for the delay of the post.

December Favourites

Hello everyone!
Its that time of the month again when I share my monthly favorites with you guys! A lot has happened this month due to the semester ending and the holidays. Due to all of this I have done less of things and more if that makes any sense. One of the things that I did do was watch more Netflix. Down below I'll list some of the the shows that I've been loving! I have also been enjoying watching movies, currently I am watching Blue Valentine.

Dawson's Creek
90210
Lost Girl
One Tree Hill

I have not been listening to very much music like I would have but nonetheless I increased my play count on some songs. Unfortunately my most played song is the same as it was last month and I say unfortunately because the song is good but it is not great ya know. In my defense, my sister just gave me tons of new music and my iTunes is ALWAYS on shuffle so the odds of a song coming on are not very high. With that being said, below are some songs that I have been enjoying this month

You Never Need Nobody
All At Once
I'm Yours
Strawberry Swing
My Time In Exile

Food is a must in any monthly favorites blog post right? I had a ton of holiday dishes this month and I am not complaining about it either!I have had tamales, posole, ham, flan, tons of soda, brownies, and god knows what else. I did gift myself an espresso maker so I have been making quite a few lattes and I'll admit they're not coffee shop material but I have high hopes that in 2014 they get better.

Fashion-wise this month I have loving cozy sweaters. I love how warm they are on their own but layer a scarf put on a nice pair of boots and some skinny jeans and it a cute winter outfit plus its super comfy! You can dress up the outfit or dress it down, all up to you. December is a month of relaxation so your outfit should not be a worry.
